Though, Sonny and Christine first crossed paths as college coeds at Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, New York, they didn't officially meet until a few years later at a mutual friend's house party. That night proved fateful. Nine years later, Sonny popped the question on the roof deck of the Hudson Hotel in Manhattan at sunset. The duo headed to Christine's hometown of Louisville, Kentucky this October to tie the knot. And yes, there may have been some moonshine at the reception.

College sweethearts Erin and Mike tied the knot over Labor Day weekend at the Mississippi Dunes Golf Course in Minneapolis, MN. Their beautiful wedding proves DIY—when done right—can be so chic. The bride's mother made her gorgeous gown and Erin designed and created the placecards and programs herself! Of course, the striking red against the black and white is so stunning—check out Erin's shoes! Congrats, Erin and Mike!

This week we're giving our hometown some love with an incredible N.Y.C. wedding. Rehana and Andy married in May at the Midtown Loft (midtownloft.net) with the help of one of our favorite new planners, Kimberlee Bendeck (kimberleebendeck.com). The city is the perfect setting for their modern color palette—yellow and gray. The best detail of all, though, has to be Kimberlee's awesome job getting the Empire State Building illuminated in the couple's wedding colors the night of their nuptials. Talk about a perfect ending! Congrats, Rehana & Andy!

Fans of NBC's The Biggest Loser will probably recognize this week's featured couple. Nicole and Damien were contestants on season seven of the hit show. Together, they lost over 200 lbs. and were able to tie the knot in the best shape of their lives! They exchanged vows at the Renaissance of Astoria in Astoria, NY on August 16, 2009. Nicole looked drop-dead gorgeous in a fitted tulle gown with a tiered ruffle skirt designed by Amsale. The groom looked dapper in a Calvin Klein tux from Men's Warehouse. Biggest Loser costar Carla Triplett did all the flower arrangements for the happy couple, including the bride's ivory Swarovski-accented bouquet. Beside's Nicole's incredible dress, we also loved her three-tiered "Biggest Loser's Praline Bliss" wedding cake, which was vanilla bourbon-praline and sweet potato orange cake filled with bourbon candied yams and vanilla praline buttercream. Delish! Congrats, Nicole & Damien!!

This week's featured real wedding is a special one—our editorial manager, Joy, is the bride! She left us for three weeks back in May to get married in Arizona and we can see why she came back glowing. Everything was absolutely beautiful from the scenery to Joy in her Rivini gown. We're suckers for sweets, so you can never go wrong with a cupcake tower. Congrats, Joy & Josh!!

As indicated in the blog title, this week we're taking a slight departure from our weekly wedding feature and showcasing an amazing event instead. Amy Atlas (amyatlas.blogspot.com) is an incredibly talented N.Y.C.-based event planner who designs the most delightful dessert bars. This past weekend, she did a Moroccan-inspired spread for Sunday Suppers (sunday-suppers.blogspot.com) in blue, white and orange and it's so visually stunning. The palette is summery, yet chic and everything looks absolutely delicious. Check it out!

You may recognize the bride in this week's featured wedding. She's actress Victoria Rowell of Young and the Restless fame. She recently married visual artist Radcliffe Bailey in Dublin, New Hampshire. After exchanging vows at the Dublin Community Church, the couple celebrated their nuptials with 200 guests on the lawn of a private estate.
Despite the guest list, we love the intimate vibe of the whole affair. Plus, check out Rowell's custom gown made by British designer Jane Wilson-Marquis.

Our feature wedding this week is a Big Apple affair! Amy and Albert tied the knot on May 23, 2009 at the Russian Tea Room and partied with their guests until one in the morning! As a personal touch, the couple named the tables at the reception after places they've visited together and displayed a picture from each trip. The bride's Pronovias gown was also pretty spectacular. Congrats, Amy & Albert!
