So earlier this week we brought news of a bridal salon in N.Y.C. that would be creating 30 replicas of the Vivienne Westwood wedding gown from the Sex and the City movie.
Well, we just heard from the salon and it seems a few details have changed, so here's the updated info:
(1) The gown will not be recreated by Gabriella Risatti of Gabriella New York.
(2) Vivienne Westwood will create a limited number of an altered version of Carrie's gown, which will be available for retail. The new gown will be a shorter, cocktail version of the ballgown. Click here to see a pic.
(3) Here are the retailers where the gown will be available: Ever After Miami in Florida; Lynette Bremer Designs in Valparaiso, Indiana; Hayden Olivia Bridal in Charlotte, North Carolina; Em & Co in Los Angeles, California; and, of course, Gabriella New York Bridal Salon in N.Y.C.
So it's not all bad news. Brides who loved Carrie's gown can still sort of live out their dream. And let's be honest, it is Vivienne Westwood...

We just came across this article on nypost.com and had to share.
For all you Sex and the City fanatics, you were no doubt in awe of Carrie's Vivienne Westwood wedding gown in the movie. Well, Gabriella Risatti, owner of the NYC bridal salon Gabriella New York, will be recreating the dream dress for two days only!
Gabriella will only be accepting orders tomorrow and Thursday, so if you've been dreaming of the dress ever since you saw the flick, here's your chance to make your dreams come true. Just head down to Gabriella's shop in the Meatpacking District, where they'll take your measurements. The kicker is, though, only 30 recreations will be made. Still, you could be one of the lucky ones...
Oh, and one other small detail. The asking price for the Carrie knockoff is $15,000. (Imagine a knockoff for that kind of cash!) Yes, we'll admit it's a bit steep, especially in these hard economic times, but it's your wedding for goodness sake!
