Jaime Pressly Wears Jenny Packham!

September 28, 2009 at 5:00 PM

Jp

Actress Jaime Pressly married entertainment lawyer Simran Singh this weekend in California and we can't wait to see the pictures. The wedding details are a bit scarce right now, but what we do know is that she wore Jenny Packham gowns! Yes, gownsplural!

First, for the ceremony Pressly wore a stunning ivory silk V-neck gown embellished with more than 800,000 Swarovski crystals, glass beads and sequins. Pressly topped off her ceremony look with an Acacia crystal headpiece and veil, also from Jenny Packham’s bridal accessory collection.

For the reception, Pressly changed into a 40’s-inspired cocktail dress with beaded bell sleeves and an open-back.

Pressly also outfitted her maids in Jenny Packham—her 10 attendants wore platinum one-shoulder gowns with a crystal motif at the hip.

Inside Kendra Wilkinson's Wedding!

July 2, 2009 at 5:30 PM

Kendra We were lucky enough to be able to chat up Nicole Hirsty of Cobalt Events (cobaltevents.com) this afternoon. Nicole helped former Girls Next Door star Kendra Wilkinson pull off her recent wedding at the Playboy Mansion in Los Angeles and she was nice enough to share some of the incredible details. Here are some highlights...

The color palette...
Lavender and white. Kendra liked the way the colors looked together and they fit in perfectly with the classic, fairy-tale wedding she envisioned.

The bouquets...
The bouquets featured roses and orchids. To incorporate the purple, LA Premier (lapremier.com) added braided lavender and white ribbon into the base of the bridesmaid bouquets.

The ceremony locale...
Marrying in front of the wishing well at the mansion was very significant to Kendra. Nicole and her team decked it out with an all-white triple arch the featured a pave of roses, draped chiffon and a floral chandelier. Floral balls lined the aisle.

The reception...
The reception was also on the grounds of the mansion, in a gorgeously decorated tent draped on the top and sides with chiffon. Chandeliers adorned with ostrich feathers illuminated the space and projections of pictures of Kendra and Hank played throughout the night. The table were decorated with custom white tufted linens and beautiful tall centerpieces that included lavender, roses, hydrangea and orchids and were draped with crystals. The head table where the newlyweds sat was lined with white boxes filled with hydrangea, lavender, orchids and roses.

The favors...
At each setting, the couple gave guests almond-shaped chocolates from Gourmandise Paris (gourmandiseparis.com) that matched the lavender and white color scheme. At the end of the night, guests could also munch on monogrammed football-shaped cookies (provided by Weddingish.com), which were displayed on a bed of wheatgrass as an ode to the groom who is a professional football player.

It is so important to make sure you have people you trust working with you on your wedding day. Make lots of meetings and always listen to your instincts. You may like their work, but if you don’t love them, go find someone you love. They are going to be a huge part of your day, they will be in your face and you need to love them.

I was so lucky to have an amazing photographer, Anthony Vazquez. We got along so well and most importantly Michael was comfortable with him, as well. I love taking pictures and can do it all day long, but I needed to make sure that Michael was also comfortable because he is not as used to being photographed. We had our meeting and it was the perfect fit. We kept in contact often and that made it really easy for our big day.

We also enlisted the help of Joseph Edwards Wedding Filmmakers for video. I can’t wait to see our special day on film—it makes it something we can relive over and over again. It is wonderful to be able to capture those special moments.

We are also did something a little different. The day after the wedding, we are doing a full shoot. We are going to get all dressed up again and take some breathtaking pictures! It will be nice and so much less stress. We can have fun and take as long as we want and know that no one is waiting on us. When are we going to look that incredible again? I definitely want it captured! We are going to do some fun photos, artsy photos, and just make the most of it. Be sure to check out the pictures from our wedding in the Spriing 2009 issue of In Style Weddings on newsstands in March.

092708_mitchell_200x240_2The Guys!

As much as it is the bride's day, it is super important for the groom and his guys to look their finest. We enlisted the help of Kenneth Cole to hook the guys up in some amazing tuxedos and I have to say, they look hot.

We gave all the guys in our wedding party the tuxedos as an amazing gift and they were all so excited. You let them get dressed up and they don’t want to take the tux off—it is pretty funny! But it's fun to see them just as excited at the girls. Don’t tell them that I told you, though!

So make sure you don’t forget about the guys, you will be surprised how much they care.

092708_mitchell_200x240Happy Honeymooning

Planning the honeymoon is fun, but at times can be very frustrating. There are so many things that go into planning the wedding that the honeymoon often gets forgotten. I was still trying to plan the honeymoon as I was boarding the plane to head over to Europe for the wedding!

Thank goodness for the amazing people at Four Seasons, though. They were so wonderful in helping me plan the most amazing honeymoon. We are headed to the Maldives!

We're staying at the unbelievable Four Seasons Maldives, Kuda Huraa. We are going to scuba, snorkel, relax, and just enjoy the time together. It is truly going to be the start of the most amazing life together. I can’t wait to get there. I will give you an update after the honeymoon and let you know how incredible it was.

Kristen_michele_0581I wanted to do something special for our wedding, so I decided to create an aroma—something special just for our nuptials that would remind me of that amazing day every time I smelled it.

To do that, I enlisted some help from an amazing woman, Kristen Michele. Together we created my own unique scent for the big day! I was able to put all of my favorite things in it: Gardenia, Night Blooming Jasmine, Rose and all the yummy things that remind me of amazing memories.

We also got a combination of two different fragrances for the bridesmaids and mothers. That way, we all complement each other to make the day smell amazing. It's just a small detail, but hopefully every time I wear that perfume, Michael remembers our special day because you know I will.

092708_mitchell_200x240_2Saying Thanks

So the big day is fast approaching and there are so many things to do. I am so grateful to all my wonderful bridesmaids. I really want them to feel special, so I have a few things up my sleeve...

First, they are wearing beautiful dresses by Vineyard Collection—so classic and simple.

I also got them tracksuits from one of my favorite designers, Ankh Royalty! They are so cute, I am so excited. We're going to look so cute getting ready in our tracksuits on the day. I really wanted us in the same thing; it always makes for good pictures. Plus, tracksuits are the way to go so you don’t mess up your hair!

I also got them one of my favorite things, Havaianas flip-flops. I can’t live without my flip flops and my wedding day is no different.

I want my girls to feel beautiful, so what better to make them feel amazing than some brand new amazing makeup from my favorite cosmetic company? I got each girl a travel case full of my favorite products from Benefit! I am so in love with the products, I got some for me too. Every girl loves new makeup!

My girls have been so amazing and I just wanted a few things that made them feel special. This was my way to celebrate them and how much they mean to me, just showering them with a few of my favorite things.

092708_mitchell_200x240The (Other) One

Well, I guess I will start by introducing myself. My name is Beverley Mitchell and you may know me as Lucy Camden from the television show 7th Heaven.

I have a new adventure now, though: my wedding. Michael, my fiance, and I have been together for over 7 ½ years and engaged for almost three years. Our wedding is almost here and I couldn’t be more excited. In Style Weddings asked me to blog a little about the adventures of planning a wedding and boy, are there a lot of them. I am so excited to share the fun! I hope you enjoy and find it helpful.

First and foremost, THE DRESS! Picking the dress was so important to me. I have been dreaming of this day for so long! I had to find the PERFECT dress. For me, the dress literally came to me. I was able to work with the most wonderful designer, Melissa Sweet. She came out to California from New York and I instantly knew she was my girl. She understood me and she truly cared about making me feel beautiful and special.

She has so many beautiful dresses, so I was overwhelmed at first, but when I saw my dress it was love at first sight. I tried it on and it literally brought me to tears. I had found the dress. I knew right away and I never changed my mind. There were times that I second guessed myself, but the truth is my first reaction was honest and pure and that was what I stuck with.

I also have a second dress for the reception to dance in and it is just as beautiful and wonderful as the first, but a different feel. This was also a dress that, as soon as I tried it on, I knew. It is so important to be comfortable on the day. I would wear these dresses every day--they are exquisite and they make me feel amazing. I hope Michael has the same reaction to me in the dress as I did. We’ll see!
