With hundreds of perfumes to choose from, it’s easy to wonder which fragrance will be perfect for your walk down the aisle. Fortunately, celebrity make-up artist Julie Hewett has come up with a unique way to let your eyelashes make some sense of it for you with her new rose-scented mascara ($20, juliehewett.net).
Not only does the mascara give off a fresh, floral scent every time you bat your lashes, it comes in a smear-proof formula to ensure you won’t need constant touch-ups throughout the night. And brides with sensitive skin who may be wary of scented products need not worry: the rose flower distillate is actually an eye soother that relaxes and calms the entire eye area. It's perfect for ladies with irritable eyes who want to look extra refreshed on their special day. As if you needed more incentive to give it a try, Julie Hewitt’s mascara also helps curl and lengthen your lashes so you’ll look stunning in every wedding picture.
Visit juliehewett.net to order yours in time for the big day!

Brides in the D.C.-metro area take note! Hela Spa (helaspa.com), which has locations in Georgetown and Chevy Chase, is one of our new favorites. Fashion director Victoria Sanchez-Lincoln had the pleasure of visiting this past weekend and cannot stop raving about her treatment. She's the first to admit, 'I like getting rubbed," so she got the hot stone massage (also known as the Lappland). "This massage is actually a combo of a traditional Swedish with warm stones and it was so soothing," she raves. She actually fell asleep during the treatment—it was that good.
But, for brides-to-be, she recommends the special bride-to-be package ($500 for 4 hours), which includes a hot stone massage, a collagen mask, a deep cleansing of the back and a brow styling. The works! Or, if you're feeling really indulgent, bring your man along. Hela has a "For Two" package ($275/person) that comes complete with 60-minute Swedish massages, deep cleansing facials and eye contour masks for both people. You can also add on an order of strawberries and champagne for only $50 extra!
Best of all, Hela is offering InStyle Weddings readers a 25% discount on the two packages listed above. Talk about a great deal. Just mention InStyle Weddings when you book your treatments. Call 202.333.4445 or visit
helaspa.com to reserve your spot. Happy spaing!!

The stress of planning a wedding can wreak havoc on your skin, which makes using a nutrient-rich moisturizer more important than ever. Sun exposure and heat during summer months can leave skin looking and feeling dull, dehydrated and in need of some serious TLC, so why not give your skin a hydration boost with Jurlique’s Love Balm ($15, Sephora.com)? Here's the rubdown on why we love it:
Emollients like Jojoba oil, shea butter and mango seed work together to help soften your skin. Beeswax improves its elasticity and suppleness.
Vitamin E, sunflower seed oil and avocado oil offer antioxidant protection and lock in moisture. They also stimulate anti-aging properties!
A unique Bisabolol ingredient derived from the wood of a Brazilian Candeia plant helps sooth skin and significantly reduces redness from irritation.
Basically, Love Balm will give you the glow all brides crave. It's packaged in a pocket-sized tin for quick touch-ups to your lips, elbows, knees, feet or hands—anywhere you need to kick-start a glowing complexion. Trust us on this one, your skin will love you for it.

Getting your hair in its best condition is no doubt one of your top priorities before the big day, so don't let all your hard work go to waste once your nuptials are over. You'll be taking tons of pictures during your honeymoon, so make sure your hair stays shiny and healthy with these expert tips from Samy, the owner of Samy Style Beauty Lounge. His hot-weather, humidity-proof hair tips are perfect for brides who don’t want to fret about their locks while lying beachside on their honeymoon.
Before heading to the beach, skip washing your hair and let your natural scalp oil hydrate your strands. Salt water strips hair of its natural oils causing it to become dry and brittle, which can lead to breakage and damage. Samy's Get Curls Re-Energizing Potion ($5.99, at drugstores) is especially great for conditioning and rejuvenating lifeless curls.
Protect yourself from the harmful UV rays of the sun. You already know to slather your body in sunscreen, but don't forget about your hair. Samy’s Curl Constructor Mousse ($5.99, at drugstores) has sunscreen in it and protects your hair against humidity.
Put hair into a loose braid or twist it up into a bun after your swim. Wet hair is vulnerable to breakage, so avoid pulling it into a ponytail because the hair tie could cause split ends in the middle of the hair shaft.

We fell in love with Michelle Obama's iconic one-shouldered silk chiffon Jason Wu Inauguration Ball gown, which was sure to have inspired many brides-to-be in selecting their dream wedding dress. When we watched the First Couple dance well into the night—as many bride and grooms anticipate doing on their special day— Mrs. O. watchers may have wondered which scent she wore and lingered in the night air. According to July's Washingtonian, we recently found out that Michelle Obama's signature scent is Love in White by Creed.
Love in White is no stranger to Washington. The very first bottle was introduced in 2005 and presented to then First Lady, Laura Bush. The fragrance ($230 for 2.5 oz, neimanmarcus.com) features a sweet bouquet of notes including orange zest, iris, jasmine, daffodils, magnolia, rose and vanilla.
It’s the perfect light fragrance for summer brides who will surely love to be in white.
