It is so important to make sure you have people you trust working with you on your wedding day. Make lots of meetings and always listen to your instincts. You may like their work, but if you don’t love them, go find someone you love. They are going to be a huge part of your day, they will be in your face and you need to love them.
I was so lucky to have an amazing photographer, Anthony Vazquez. We got along so well and most importantly Michael was comfortable with him, as well. I love taking pictures and can do it all day long, but I needed to make sure that Michael was also comfortable because he is not as used to being photographed. We had our meeting and it was the perfect fit. We kept in contact often and that made it really easy for our big day.
We also enlisted the help of Joseph Edwards Wedding Filmmakers for video. I can’t wait to see our special day on film—it makes it something we can relive over and over again. It is wonderful to be able to capture those special moments.
We are also did something a little different. The day after the wedding, we are doing a full shoot. We are going to get all dressed up again and take some breathtaking pictures! It will be nice and so much less stress. We can have fun and take as long as we want and know that no one is waiting on us. When are we going to look that incredible again? I definitely want it captured! We are going to do some fun photos, artsy photos, and just make the most of it. Be sure to check out the pictures from our wedding in the Spriing 2009 issue of In Style Weddings on newsstands in March.

As a wedding planner who works all over the world, I have had the benefit of meeting a number of phenomenal photographers. Anthony is one of them. He is the consummate professional, an extraordinary talent and one of the kindest people you will meet. He takes great pride in his work, cares about what the client wants, and I am always proud to recommend him. I look forward to my next wedding with Anthony!
