No Kids Allowed?

April 30, 2008 at 11:37 AM

FlowergirlsLately I've been noticing that several of my wedding couples do not want children at their wedding. They are determined to keep it an adult-only event. Even if the couple has children in the wedding they get sent home right after the ceremony.

So what's the best way to tell your guests to get a babysitter? Honesty! But be nice -- a separate card in your invite that might read, "We love your children, but our wedding will be an adult event. Thank you for your understanding!" This way they are asked kindly to keep the kids home so there is no guessing.

I happen to love kids at an event, but I also know that it is nice once in awhile to let your hair down and party with your husband or partner without worrying about your child sliding across the dance floor.
